Christina Ingram, 78, of rural Robinson, died early Monday morning, July 22, 2013, at her home. She had been in ill health the past several months.
Chris was born at Tracy, Missouri, February 23, 1935, the daughter of Charley and Minnie Goodpasture Couchman. She grew up in the Tracy/Weston/Iatan area where she attended school. The family moved frequently through the years before settling in 1987 in the Leona-Robinson area to make her home. Chris worked most of her life as a nurse aide for a number of hospitals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald Ingram; sons Delbert Ingram, Ronald Ingram; a daughter Ruth Elaine Ingram Pratt; four brothers: Russell Couchman, Dick Couchman, Marshall Couchman, Freddy Couchman; two sisters Lela Riddle and Charlene Goodman.
She is survived by her life long companion Dick Adkins of Robinson; her children: Donald (Sheri) Ingram, Jr. of Robinson, Ralph (Bonita) Ingram of Horton, Kandy Ingram Manis of Hiawatha, James (Niki) Henderson of Marion, Indiana, Billy (Lynda) Ingram, Bob Zuchawaski, Jimmie Ingram, all of St. Joseph, Missouri, Richard Adkins of Leona, Pat (Melvin) Smith of St. Joseph, Donna (Don) Burn of Savannah, Missouri, Marilyn Adkins Duckett of Axtell; two brothers: John (Thelma) Couchman of Sedalia, Missouri, David (Wilma) Couchman of Gas City, Indiana; two sisters: Agnes White of LaFontaine, Indiana, Elaine Couchman of Peru, Indiana; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews. Two close friends Joyce Moppins and Cleo Stewart also survive.
Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland. Chaplain Don Goatley, of NEK Hospice, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Leona.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday where the family will meet friends from 6 until 8 that evening.
