Alice Katherine Terry, 96, formerly of Hoyt, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at home in Topeka.

She was born September 19, 1928 at Ashtown, Arkansas, the daughter of L.D and Sarah Alice Weims Grice.  She was a member of the Christian faith.

Alice was a cook all of her life.  She cooked and managed the Country Inn in Topeka, and later did the same at Sutton's Grocery and J.M. Bauersfeld.  She later cooked and managed the Waterfall Restaurant in Holton.

She married Steve Terry, Jr. on June 4, 1949 in Ashtown, AR.  He preceded her in death on January 15, 2001.

Alice was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Tommy Terry and David Terry, who was stillborn, a daughter, Debra Lyn Langley, and all her siblings.

Survivors include a son, Tony Terry (Carolyn), Plainville, a daughter, Beverly "Jo" Flowers (Al), Topeka, eleven grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt.  Cremation will follow the service with later inurnment in the Hoyt Cemetery.  Alice will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Faith Home Health and Hospice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS  66440.
