Bette Sue Keller, 81, of Lyons, formerly of Holton, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Lyons Hospital.

She was born December 8, 1944 in Holton, the daughter of Orville and Josephine White Keller.  She graduated from Circleville High School in 1962.

Bette worked for the State of Kansas, Department of Health and Environment, for many years.  She then received her Certified Nurses Aide certification and worked in nursing homes in Holton and Onaga.

She married Russell Steinmeyer on October 8, 1965.  They were divorced in 1981.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph Lee Keller and Gary Eugene Keller, a brother-in-law, Pete Deppe, a niece, Victoria Lynn Chilson and a nephew, Ryan Simecka.

She is survived by her sister, Delores "Dee" Deppe, Topeka, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2nd at the Brick Cemetery.  There will be a book available to sign during business hours at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.  Memorials are suggested to the Heart of Jackson Humane Society, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.
