Clarence "Mick" McGuire
June 8, 1944 – May 10, 2026

Clarence "Mick" McGuire passed away peacefully at Maple Heights on May 10, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on June 8, 1944, in Hanford, Washington.  Mick spent much of his life traveling and living throughout the western United States before eventually making his way through the Midwest, including time in Nebraska and Kansas.

Mick was a quiet and private man who often kept to himself, yet somehow always managed to find — or stir up — a little wild fun wherever life took him. Though cautious by nature and shaped by a difficult street background, he had a remarkable ability to get along with nearly everyone he met. Those fortunate enough to earn his trust were rewarded with a smile worth a million bucks and a loyal friend who never pretended to be anything other than himself.

He was a man of faith who found comfort in scripture readings and late-night television sermons. Through the years, Mick carried stories of tribal rituals and traditions he encountered along the way, often proudly showing off the lucky bear claw he treasured so dearly.

Mick worked many kinds of jobs throughout his life. A true jack of all trades, he spent time doing labor work, factory jobs, automotive repair, and whatever honest work was available to help him get by. He lived life on his own terms and adapted wherever the road led him.

He was the father of two children, a son and daughter, whom he spoke of over the years, though life eventually led them down separate paths. In later years, Mick found comfort and companionship among the friends he made while living in a local hotel community.

He enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness: puppy cuddles, watching WWE (wrestling) & game shows,  enjoying a hot cup of strong black coffee, or ice-cold Mountain Dew, and sharing desserts whenever he could get them.

Mick leaves behind memories that are difficult to neatly summarize — stories shared in passing, unexpected laughter, hard-earned wisdom, and the unmistakable presence of a man who lived a life few fully knew, but many were glad to have crossed paths with.

He will be remembered with affection by the friends and neighbors who came to know him at Maple Heights Nursing and Rehab.
