Seneca KS………….Dion Rogers, 60 years old, died July 4, 2024, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka surrounded by family.

Dion was born October 21, 1963, IN Conroe, Texas, born to Marvin and Glenda Blalock Rogers.  He grew up in Conroe where he attended school.  Dion was no stranger to work as he started working at the Dairy Queen in Conroe at the age of 13.

He later worked as an electrician for twenty years before moving to Seneca in 2004 where he worked as an edger machinist for Koch & Company wood cabinetry until falling ill and unable to work.  He also worked at Casey's General Store in Seneca for about six years while at Koch & Co.

Dion married Cindy Simpson, June 9, 1981.  They have been married 43 years where they have made Seneca their home.  She survives.

He is also survived by a daughter Stephani Rogers McGehee (Carlos) of Seneca, a son T.J. Alfrey of Georgia; a brother Tony Kelley (Becky) of Livingston, Texas, grandchildren:  Katie & Nicky, Savanah, MaKenzie, Ethan, Eli, Jayson, Brianca, with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Also surviving are his in laws Dorsey and Sandy Simpson OF White Cloud, KS, and his best friend David Rhodes of San Diego, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lisa Blalock, and grandson Blaine Keegan Alfrey.

Cremation is planned with memorial services pending and to be announced in the coming days.

Memorial Services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Terrace Heights Community Center, 504 Edwards Street, Seneca.  Pastor Cliff Acres of White Cloud will officiate.

The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services at the Community Center.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Cotton O'Neil Cancer Center in Topeka, which may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 South 7th, Hiawatha, KS 66434.
