ONAGA – Duane C. Wege, 81, of Onaga, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Community Hospital in Onaga.

He was born May 1, 1941 on the farm at Onaga, the son of Otto and Hannah Ladwig Wege.  He graduated from Onaga High School in 1959 and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Duane was a farmer and a stockman and had been a 4-H Youth Leader.

He married Loretta K. Brunkow on October 8, 1967 at Onaga.  She survives, of the home.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Emma Perry, and a brother, Curtis Wege.

Other survivors include two daughters, Gail Wege and Carol Perry (Luke), all of Onaga, a sister, Lavina Weber, Onaga and six grandchildren, Faith and Allie Perry and Zabel, Maesynn, Krevour and Annalynn Collins

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31st at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Onaga Cemetery.  Duane will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.  Family and friends will meet from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.  Per Duane's wishes, no ties are to be worn at the funeral.  Memorials are suggested to the Onaga Fair Association or the charity of the donor's choice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS  66521.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
