Edna L. Dillon, of Highland, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 2026, at Wathena Healthcare & Rehab.  She was 92.

She was born in Sabetha, January 2, 1934, one of three daughters of Ewald and Agnes Baacha Kitzel and had made Northeast Kansas area her home.  She grew up near Sabetha and Severance.  She attended school in Sabetha and Severance and later worked to achieve her GED.

Edna worked as a certified nurse aide, many of those years helping those folks living at the Collier Manor Nursing Home in Highland.  When she wasn't 'working', she was helping her husband Jack on the farm, whatever job needed to be done at the time.

Edna was a member of the Highland Christian Church and CWF of the Church.  She also was a member of the Pollyanna Club of Highland.  She enjoyed crocheting, tatting, quilting and gardening.  She made many things for family and friends.

She married Jack B. Dillon, October 18, 1952, at Hiawatha.  They made their home, raised their family on the farm north of Highland.  He died March 6, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; by an infant son; her sisters: Lee Ann Knight and Mary Catoe.

Survivors include a son Harold 'Diesel' Dillon (Betty), and Janet Twombly (Tim); four grandchildren:  Jennifer Sider (Jason), Rebecca Glaser (Paul), Brian Twombly (Monica), Christopher Dillon (Marijane), and 16 great-grandchildren:  Xavian, Korra, Saxton Sider, Josephine, Kathryn, Fredrick, Peter, Jeffrey Glaser, Samuel, Caroline, Hope Twombly, Aiden, Arik, Jaxson, Ellie, and Nikola Dillon.

A Celebration of Edna's eternal life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Highland Christian Church with Pastor Bob Nusser officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday.  The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services Saturday at Church.
