TOPEKA – Glen V. Baird, 57, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at his home in Topeka.

He was born December 26, 1964 in Topeka the son of Darol and Helen Boyer Baird. Glen graduated from Lebo High School in 1984. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Glen was a truck driver for various companies. He had also worked at Sam's Club in Topeka, then returned to trucking until an accident forced him to retire.

He married Cynthia Scott on May 29, 2014 in Topeka.  She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wayne Baird and Neil Baird, a sister, Lisa Baird and a step-brother, Richard Johnson.

Other survivors include a son, William Scott, Topeka; a step-mother, Lowene Baird, Lebo; three brothers, Robert Baird, in Indiana, Billy Baird, Osage City, and Lyle Baird, Onaga; one step-brother, Scott Smith, Lebo; two sisters, Connie Ellis, Havensville and Deloris Looper, Blaine; one step-sister, Shannon Sterritt, Albuquerque, NM; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Onaga Cemetery.  Glen will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS  66521.
