Helen L. Rose, 85, of Onaga, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Community Hospital in Onaga.

She was born August 22, 1938 at St. Clere, the daughter of Cleon and Leatha Brees Bishop.  She graduated from Havensville High School in 1956.

Helen was a cook at the Havensville School.  She also cooked at Golden Acres Nursing Home, and in her earlier years was a waitress in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She married Jimmie Dale Rose on June 14, 1956 in Manhattan.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 2007.

Survivors include a son, Robert Rose (Dottie), Tacoma, WA, three daughters, Carolyn Sattler, Emporia, Debbie Nolte (Nick), Onaga and Loretta Pinick (Dennis), Havensville, one brother, Glen Bishop (Sharon), Rossville, one sister, Mary McDougal (Gerald), Havensville, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5th at the Havensville Christian Church.  Burial will follow in the Havensville Cemetery.  Helen will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, where visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Havensville Christian Church or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS  66521.
