Julia Ann Conaway, 85 of Topeka, Kansas, passed peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026.

She was born in Blaine, Kansas, the daughter of Urban and Cecelia (Roggenkamp) O'Keeffe.  She attended school in Wheaton, Kansas.

Julia married the love of her life, Roy Conaway, on December 10, 1957.  Roy preceded her in death in 2022 after celebrating 64 years of wedded bliss.  Together they raised their six children:  Mark Conaway (Carolyn), Marlene Conaway (Mark Stevens), Linda McCracken (John), Michael Conaway (Lisa), Larry Conaway (Kim), Nancy Lohse (Tim) and their granddaughter, Ann (Conaway) Crowley.

Grandchildren include:  Bryson Conaway (Haley), Caitrin Temmen (Cole), Brandon McCracken (Rosa), Amanda Simmons (Chris), Emily McCracken, Amy McCracken, Mason Conaway (Stephanie), Monica Conaway (Nikolas), Michael Conaway (Amy), Halie Lohse, Corey Lohse (Krista), and Erika Lohse (Trevor); and great grandchildren Michael, Corson and Xander Crowley; Benson, Chasey and Bowen Conaway; Calai, Celise and Cruz Temmen; Kyrin Lohse; Emmie and Violet Meyer; Anthony (Candice) and Josh Morgan; Maddison Conaway; Lukas Cruz; and Sophia Conaway; and great-great grandchild Kinslee Morgan.

Other survivors include her siblings Marsha Bergman, Steve O'Keeffe (Linda), and Pam Kufahl (Mark).

Julia was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings John (Jack) O'Keefe, Galen (Bud) O'Keefe, and Verlene McNally.

She was deeply grateful for the kindness and loving care she received in her final years from Ann, Corson and Xander Crowley and Halie Lohse.

Memorial Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26th at the Topeka Baptist Church.  Inurnment will follow in Prairie Home Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Topeka Baptist Church or Faith Hospice, and may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS  66440.
