ONAGA – L. F. "Bud" Bonjour, 100, of Onaga, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Community Hospital in Onaga.

He was born August 16, 1923, two miles north of Neuchatel, the son of Sam and Ellen Savago Bonjour.  He attended Neuchatel Country Schools.

Bud was a hard working farmer and stockman, and an avid gardener, and would help anyone in need.  He especially enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events.  In 2001 he was named the "Panther Fan of the Year".  He loved to play bingo and go to the casino.

He married Margaret Mars on December 19, 1945 at Seneca. She survives, of the home.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Bonjour and Brent Burdiek, and his siblings, Marge Graf, Dale Bonjour, Betty Labbe, Rozella Davis and Mary Lou Petersen.

Other survivors include a son, Donnie Bonjour, Centralia, a daughter, Brenda Burdiek (Tim), Centralia, three grandchildren, Traci Bonjour, Kristi Hutfles (Jeff) and Kent Burdiek (Morgan), and five great grandchildren, Casen, Carter and Brynn Hutfles, and Rhett and Ryker Burdiek.

Services will be private, followed by burial in the Neuchatel Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Onaga Community Home Health, and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS  66521.
