Larry Blevins of rural Highland, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at his home. Larry was born on a farm near Highland on December 5, 1942. He was the oldest child of William Leonard and Lillie (Colley) Blevins, who both preceded him in death. He attended the Highland Schools through high school where he graduated in 1960. He was a member of the Highland Christian Church.

Larry married the love of his life, Sharelle (Resler) Blevins on January 15, 1966. Larry enjoyed his farm life from a very early age. He loved all of his farm animals, especially his beef and dairy cows and draft horses. Larry had several hired hands over the years, that included his children, and taught them lessons that included the value of farm life and the importance of hard work. Small square hay bales were a necessity on the farm to feed the various animals, and many local young men learned the art of "throwing hay" from him. No matter how tough or long the day was, it always ended with a big ornery grin.

Survivors include: his wife Sharelle, four sons, Joey (Sue), Rick (Kristi), Randy all of Highland, and Dennis (Karman) of Maize, KS, two daughters, Kim (Mike) Dunlap and Shelly (Doug) Cluck of Highland. He is also survived by 23 grandkids, 27 great-grand kids, and 1 on the way. Other survivors also include: Kyle (Emily) Heinrich of Highland; 1 sister, Judy (Owen) McCourt of Topeka, KS, 3 brothers, Jerry (Carol), Mike (Kari), Jim (Patty) all of Highland and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a grandson and an infant brother, Eddie Wayne.

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland, Wednesday, January 8th anytime between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. The family will meet with friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm that evening at the Highland Christian Church. Services will be held Thursday, January 9th at 11:00 am at the Highland Christian Church. A private burial will follow at a later date at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Highland.
