Lester Jule "L. J." Davin of Leander, TX passed away on April 27, 2023 at the age of 86.

He was born on January 10, 1937, in Onaga, Kansas to parents Lester Floyd and Ida Myrtle (Beach) Davin. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1955 where he played football and basketball and was known as Buck during his high school days. Later that year he married Shirley Mars on December 16, 1955 and had four children.

When Lester was young, he would help his Aunt Blanche at the Onaga bakery. He learned a lot about cars when working at the Onaga Gas Station. After he graduated, he went to work for American Airlines and worked in Chicago, IL, Oklahoma City, OK, El Paso, TX and Austin, TX. where he retired after 39 years with the company. Lester also helped establish new services for American Airlines in Frankfurt Germany, Paris France and seven other cities in Central and South America including Paraguay.

Lester enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, watching Old Westerns and spending time with family and friends, and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan.

Lester is survived by his loving sweetheart of 35 years, Ivy Townsley; two daughters Joni Davin of Tecumseh, KS and, Kristy (Larry) Sheppard of Broken Arrow, OK; two sons Michael (Karrie) Davin of Pine, CO and Robert Davin of Tecumseh, KS; his grandchildren Nathan Sheppard, Joshua (Jessica) Sheppard, Johanna (Bryan) Banuelos, Jeremiah Sheppard, Kayla Davin, Cody Davin, Garin Davin and Marra Davin; three great grandchildren Avery Sheppard, Luka Banuelos and Emery Davin; two brothers Larry (Betty) Davin, Randy (Diane) Davin and four sisters Carol Thompson, Jolene (Roger) Gleason, Julie Wilhelm, Jan (Jr.) Conley.

He was preceded in death by Shirley Davin; his parents, one sister Joye Brees and Ricky Townsley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, KS with burial immediately following at the Onaga Cemetery. Please join the family for a continued Celebration of Life at the Onaga Community Center at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Michael J.
