NETAWAKA – Lois M. Ackerman, 74, of Netawaka, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the University of Kansas Health System, St. Francis Campus, in Topeka.

She was born November 5, 1946 in Topeka, the daughter of Marion and Pearl Spiker Christy. She graduated from Goff High School in 1965.

Lois worked as a nurse's aide at Merry Manor Nursing Home in Holton, and at various other nursing homes.

She married Delbert Ackerman on September 14, 1979 at Hiawatha. He survives, of the home.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Fulkerson, and a sister, Virginia Fulkerson.

Other survivors include a daughter, Waneta Ackerman, Netawaka; three brothers, Russell Fulkerson and Marvin Fulkerson, both of Goff, and Daniel Fulkerson, Holton; one sister, Janet Fulkerson, Topeka; her life long friend, Fay Downie, Marysville; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Aalayah Ackerman.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Netawaka Cemetery. Lois will lie in state after noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitaton will be from 9:30 until service time on Thursday.
