Marc Alan Marcoux, 68, of Harveyville, was found at his home on Thursday, April 1, 2021.

He was born May 16, 1952 in Topeka, the son of Roy and Myra Hayward Marcoux. He graduated from Onaga High School and was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in Onaga.

Marc had the privilege of being inducted into the Onaga High School Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 1969 Football Team. He shared the honor of being selected a Mid-East League All Star Team Quarterback member. Marc was an artist. From a very young age, he was a talented musician. While at KU, his major instrument was trombone. He served as a mentor for many throughout Lawrence, KS as a bassist and played keyboard professionally. He was an accomplished operatic tenor vocalist having been recognized as first runner up in the Metropolitan Opera auditions for the entire Midwest. He was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and an alumnus of Washburn University where he performed the leading role in "Gianni Schicchi" with the Washburn University Opera Company. He later gave back his love for music to his community when he founded an opera series at the First Congregational Church, UCC, Onaga, KS. His life's love of music and work on the Marcoux Ranch was a true dedication.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy Marcoux, Jr., and Craig Marcoux.

Survivors include a son, Lee Michael Marcoux, Manhattan; a daughter, Rachel Rubio, Bristow, VA; the mother of his children, Cheryl Marcoux Callahan; a sister, Loretta Dunnaway, Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Isabel and Gabriel Rubio; and three nieces, Michelle Donahue Lorra, Gretchen Dunnaway Mitchell and Lauren Dunnaway.

The visitation will be at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, April 10th. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11th at the Bucks Grove United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
