ONAGA – Martha L. May, 79, of Onaga, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 30, 1942 the daughter of Carl and Marguerite Stanton Barbour. She graduated from Anita High School in Anita, Iowa in 1960 and later from Cosmetology School in North Platte, Nebraska.

She married Ernest "Ted" May on in 1967 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He survives, of the home.

Martha was a hairdresser in different salons, first in Wyoming and later in the Onaga area.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Barbour.

Other survivors include two sisters, Polly Ruth and her husband Doyle, Orient, IA and Ellen Barbour, Cheyenne, WY; a brother, Jon Barbour and his wife Celine, Cheyenne, WY; a sister-in-law, Ardyth Barbour, Wibaux, MT; and several nieces and nephews, including Stacey Cass and Travis Ruth and his wife Kelli.

Cremation is planned. Per Martha's wishes, no services are planned. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Havensville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fairview School, and may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS 66521.
