Micheal Wayne Provo, age 60, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and stories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Micheal was born to Barbara Jean and Jesse Provo in Cairo, Illinois. He was a man who never met a stranger and had a heart big enough to make everyone around him feel like family.

Mike was truly a jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he worked in many different jobs and always found a way to keep busy. From construction to working as a fry cook at Burger King to being a beloved bingo caller, Mike was always willing to lend a hand. One of his favorite hobbies was landscaping. He took pride in making things look their best and could often be found outside working on one project or another.

Mike was the kind of person you could call at any hour of the night, and somehow, he would be there. If you needed Mike, Mike showed up. He loved taking care of the people around him and never hesitated to help family or friends.

Those who knew Mike will remember his incredible sense of humor and his ability to make almost any situation entertaining. There was never a dull moment when Uncle Mike was around. His nieces could talk him into going out for drinks, and before long, everyone would be laughing and having a good time. Mike loved to joke, tease, and make people smile. His funny sayings and one-liners will continue to be repeated for years to come because, as anyone who knew him can tell you, there was only one Unc.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed relaxing, taking naps with his Addie Baby, spending time with his great-nieces and great-nephews, and simply enjoying life. He loved visiting the casino and playing Yatzz. It wasn't always about where he was going—it was about the people he was with and the memories they made along the way.

Mike had a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews. To them, he wasn't just an uncle; he was someone they could count on, someone who made them laugh, and someone who made life a little more fun. Everyone loved Uncle Mike.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Donna, and his parents, Barbara Jean Provo and Jesse Provo. He was also preceded in death by his great-nephew, Dakota Simpkins.

He leaves behind his sons, Josh Provo of Spencer Heights, Illinois; Zachary Provo of Missouri; and Micheal Provo of Missouri, His Precious Addie baby Addelynn Enke along with his family who loved him dearly, including Teresa (Chuck) Bridges, Lily Provo (Donald Liberty) of Hiawatha, Kansas, Elton Provo of Sikeston, Missouri and DeAnn Provo Osceola, Iowa, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless close family friends.

Though Mike is no longer here with us, his laughter, his stories, his jokes, and his big heart will live on through everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be at a later date.
