Obituary

Pamela Eileen Roudebush, 81, of Highland, formerly of Cummings, Kansas, passed away

Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Two Timbers in Highland with her family by her side.

Pamela was born July 5, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Hartman and

Velma (Garrison) Hartman. She graduated from ACCHS in 1963 and held various jobs

throughout her life. The job she enjoyed most was cooking at the elementary school (JU4) in

Cummings. She loved the children she met there and enjoyed watching them grow up. Many of

them would return years later to tell her that her food was the best.

Pamela enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. She also enjoyed attending church and

spending time with her family. One of her favorite things was attending her grandchildren’s

sporting events and cheering them on. She treasured the time she spent with her family and took

great pride in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Pamela married J.C. Roudebush on January 20, 1967, in Atchison. He preceded her in death. She

was also preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Velma Hartman, and her sister, Sandy

Hartman.

Survivors include her two daughters, Eileen (John) Veach of Troy, Kansas, and Tracey (Stephen)

Sandlin of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces

and nephews.

Pamela will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services are planned for 11 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Cummings Christian Church. The family will receive friends starting at 10 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Cummings Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested in her name and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, 124 S. 7th St. Hiawatha, KS 66434.
