Pat Hainline, 77, of Hoyt, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born November 2, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert and Geneva Strickland Thompson. She graduated from Topeka West High School.

Pat worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Merry Manor Nursing Home and later at the Jackson County Nursing Home. She was a member of the former Christ's Church in Holton.

Pat ran Christ's Closet out of her home for ten years. She loved to cook, bake, host barbeques and to help people in any way that she could. She also gardened and played the piano and organ.

She married Larry Hainline on May 17, 1987 at the Mayetta Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2012.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy Hainline, Hoyt, three daughters, Trish Sutton (Neale), Hoyt, Sarah Moreau, Topeka and Michelle Strickland, Clayton, NC, one sister, Janet DeWeese and seven grandchildren, Hannah, Amanda, Glenn, Stephen, Annika, Rachel and Will.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery. Pat will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Helping Hands Humane Society, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS 66440.
