ONAGA – Patricia J. Merriman, 86, of Onaga, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia.

She was born July 19, 1937 in Lacygne, KS, the daughter of Rollie and May Johnston Coffel.

Pat was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Amoret, MO and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Onaga.

She had worked as a CNA at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga for twenty-five years.  She also worked at Redbud Nursing Facility in Onaga for five years, Jackson County Nursing Home and Medicalodge Assisted Living, both in Holton.

She married Robert Henry.  They were divorced.  She later married Francis Merriman.  They were divorced.  She and Walter Junod were together for twenty-two years, until his passing.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, a granddaughter, Chasity Merriman, and a grandson, Jason Dockins.

Survivors include five sons, Robert Henry, Soldier, Richard Henry, Independence, MO, Scott Merriman (Betty), Onaga, and Charles P. Merriman and Donald Merriman, both of Topeka, a daughter, Renee Hubert (John), Concordia, a sister-in-law, Donna Coffel, Independence, MO, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Pat will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.  Inurnment will follow in the Neuchatel Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS  66521.
