Renee Roy Shopteese, Quengo, 56, of Delia, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Topeka.

She was born January 12, 1968 in Holton, the daughter of Virgil Shopteese, Sr. and Delilah Allen Shopteese.  She graduated from the Kickapoo Nation High School.

Renee was a member of the Kickapoo and Prairie Band Potawatomi Nations, and the Drum Religion.

She had worked in home health care as a Certified Nurse's Aide.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Virgie Lee Shopteese and Mavis Shopteese.

Survivors include two sons, Dakota "Kack-Kack" Shopteese, Topeka, and Keegan Shopteese, Tulsa, OK, two daughters, Keanu Shopteese, Lawrence, and Desiree Shopteese, Topeka, one brother, Virgil "Wamp" Shopteese, Jr., Delia, five sisters, Toni McIntosh, Jodi McIntosh and Linda "Lemon" Shopteese, all of Pawhuska, OK, Laury D. Shopteese, Mayetta and Tracy Shopteese, Topeka, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Renee will lie in state after Noon on Sunday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. where a visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.  She will also lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  A Wake and Drum Service will be Monday evening at the Dance Ground Building.  Burial will be Tuesday in Dance Ground Cemetery.
