Ronald Lee Webster

Ron, also known as Pete, was born on December 4, 1966, and left us too soon June 20, 2026.

Pete graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1986. His junior year, he was sworn into the Kansas Army National Guard on December 3, 1984. After an honorable discharge in 1990, Pete completed para legal courses while living in Arkansas.

He came back to Hiawatha to work at Sac and Fox Casino. Pete then moved on to work at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office for 14 years and just recently promoted to Jail Sgt.

Pete had a tremendous love of music, photography, family and friends. He was kind hearted and had a great sense of humor. He loved kids and animals. Always offering to help others but didn’t like to ask for any in return. To say that he was a Vikings fan, is vastly understated. He would grow the beard, wear the clothes, etc.

Pete was preceded in death by grandparents: Alton Bell and Adeline Fowler, Herman and Artie Webster and his father Lloyd R. Webster.

Survivors include his mother Mary Sorg, two sisters: Teresa Webster, Amy Rockel (Ryan), and nephew Brady Rockel.

He will be greatly missed. It saddens us all that he was taken so soon.

A celebration of Pete’s life is planned for 11 a.m. July 8, 2026, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. Following services, fellowship and food will follow at the Carwell Building, 301 East Iowa St, Hiawatha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to Hiawatha High School Track Team, Brown County Humane Society, Juvenile Diabetes Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
