MAYETTA – Rosalie Jo Walrod, 83, of Mayetta, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Midland Hospice House.

She was born June 21, 1938 at Horton, the daughter of Homer and Marjorie Schmitt Baskett. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1956.

Rosalie was a homemaker. She had also worked at Hallmark Cards in Topeka and later at Hardees and Burger King in Holton and Topeka. She also provided child daycare at Mayetta.

She was a member of the Mayetta Christian Church, the 4 Corner Club, Widowed Friends, and attended both Mayetta and Holton's Senior Center.

She married John Erick Walrod on August 15, 1958 in Holton. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1990.

Rosalie was also preceded in death by her parents and her dog, Chica.

Survivors include three daughters, Tena Goehring, Topeka, Gena Addis (John), Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Dena Walrod-LaBrecque (Randy), Hoyt; a brother, Ferol Baskett, Mountain Home, AR; seven grandchildren, one step-grandchild and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11th at the Holton Cemetery. Rosalie will lie in state Wednesday and until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
