Ruth Esther Hill, 89, formerly of Hoyt, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born July 15, 1933 in Atchison, the daughter of Charlie and Beulah Jenkins Muncie.

Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoyt and the Order of the Eastern Star, No. 189, at Hoyt.

She had worked at various jobs in Atchison when she was younger.  After her children were in school she worked in the kitchen for the Royal Valley School System.  She retired in 1988 as the Head Cook at the school.

Ruth married Billy R. Hill on February 24, 1952 in Atchison.  He preceded her in death on December 6, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Hill, Hoyt and David Hill (Kay), Mayetta; two daughters, Linda Hartman (Dean), Auburn and Patty Bausch (Ed), Mayetta; a sister, Cratis Petisch, Easton, ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Graveside Services and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15th in the Hoyt Cemetery.  Ruth will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Stormont-Vail Cancer Center, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS  66440.
