HOYT – Steven H. Richmond, 59, of Hoyt, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at his home in rural Hoyt.

He was born August 8, 1964 in Topeka, the son of Delos and Diane Hauver Richmond.  He graduated from Jefferson West High School in 1982 and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Steven loved training horses.  He was a transcontinental and local truck driver.  He also worked at Goodyear Tire in Topeka, and most recently worked for Stirton Trucking.  He served his community as a firefighter and EMS first responder.

He was a member of the Light of the World Christian Center in Topeka and the Hoyt Rural Fire Department.

Steve married LaDawna Parker on February 13, 1988 at Meriden.  She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delos Richmond.

Other survivors include three sons, Justin Richmond (Erin), Andrew Steven Richmond, Hoyt, and Breydon Delos Richmond (Chelsie Weber), Topeka, two brothers, Mike Richmond (Rosie), El Paso, TX and Scott Richmond, Topeka, a sister, Rhonda Guy (Mark), Topeka, and  seven grandchildren, Alexis, Jaden, Emma, Alyra, Parker, Liam and Zariah.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3rd at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery.  Steven will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Hoyt Rural Fire Department, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS  66440.
