Sue Hubbard, 78, of Horton, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Stormont-Vail Health Center in Topeka.

She was born March 15, 1946 in Talihina, Oklahoma, the daughter of Williston and Miriam Samuels Samuel.

Sue worked as a dental assistant for Indian Health Services for a total of thirty-one years.  She first worked at Concho, OK, then at Holton, and later at Haskell in Lawrence until her retirement.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Sue married Galen "Sal" Hubbard on May 28, 1965 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death on January 2, 2023.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Doris Stoliby and Delores Marris, and a brother, Timothy Samuel, who, along with their mother, died in childbirth.

Survivors include two sons, Sean Hubbard (Robin), Carbondale and Duane Hubbard, Wetmore, two daughters, Galenna Nelson (Darrin), Topeka and Miriam Hubbard (Mark), Horton, two sisters, Mary Etheridge (Ron), Oklahoma City, OK and Jeannette Maytubbi, Idabel, OK, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton.  Burial will follow in the Shipshee Cemetery.   Sue will lie in state after Noon on Sunday at the funeral home, where a visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
