TOPEKA – Thelma J. "T J" Scroggins, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at a nursing home in Topeka.

Thelma was born July 17, 1951 in St. Clair, Missouri, the daughter of Vernon and Anna Mae Mumert Silver.  Her father passed away and her mother later married Fred L. Brown.

Thelma married Jim Scroggins.  They were later divorced.  They had two adopted children, Glenn and Charis, and also two grandchildren, who she loved very much.

Fred and Anna Mae have both passed, but Thelma did acquire a large family.  She was also preceded by Clarence Collingham, Sue Pater, Mike Vickery, and Paul Crouch.

Thelma had several occupations, but number one was being a minister.  She loved the Lord, and preaching to others, God's Word.  She also loved her family and her friends.

Survivors include Carolyn Anderson (Larry), Don Brown (Pam), Janet Vickery, Darrell Pater, Charlotte Collingham, Duranna Crouch, and other extended family.

Graveside Memorial Services and inurnment will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19 ^th at the Bucks Grove Cemetery, west of Holton.  Memorials are suggested to Heartland Hospice, and may be sent in care of the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.
