Trae S. Terrel, 25, of Mayetta, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at the Stormont-Vail Health Center in Topeka.

He was born July 25, 1997 in Topeka, the son of Shane Terrel and Michelle Lawrence Terrel.  He graduated from Royal Valley High School and from Washburn Tech in 2016, where he had studied welding.  He worked for HME in Topeka as a welder.

Trae was a member of the Citizen Band Potawatomi Nation.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rich Womack and Kenneth Lawrence, and great grandparents, Cecil and Carmen Terrel, Margie "Mamo" Nocktonick and Jim Mulanax.

Survivors include his mother, Michelle Terrel, of the home, his father, Shane Terrel (Tonya), Topeka, grandparents, Cecil Terrel, Maggie Terrel and Faye Womack, all of Topeka, his twin brother, Trent Terrel (Allison) and their daughter, Winter Jo, Mayetta, three uncles, Travis Terrel (Colette), Cory Terrel (Megan) and Kenneth Lawrence (Emily), an aunt, Angie Lawrence, and his beloved dog, Tank.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt.  Inurnment will follow in the Half Day Cemetery at Elmont.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Trae Terrel Memorial Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 280, Hoyt, KS  66440.
