Vanessa Mae Cruse Bowen was born on January 19 ^th , 1948 in White Cloud, Kansas.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday September 18, 2022.

Vanessa accepted the Lord at an early age.  She enjoyed singing in the choir at her family church Foster Memorial Church in White Cloud in her youth.

Vanessa was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend for the entirety of her life.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories 3 children:  Roslyn Ross, Jared Weston and a daughter in love Nichole Bowen, her siblings:  Barney, Donna, Pam, Gerome, Curtis, and Raymond.  She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren:   Jonathan Ross (Jessica), Jasmine, Kandyce, MiKayla, Vanessa, Zoe, Jaetyn and Jai; and 5 great-grandchildren:  Eliana, Evelyn, Sebastian and Liam Ross and Rowan Weston, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relative and friends.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents Barney and Jessie Foster Cruse, a son John Ross, Jr., siblings Albert, Glenn, Vinson, Donald Watson Jr., Eugene's sisters Sherlyn Kay and Teressa Ann.

A celebration of Vanessa's life is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at the Carwell Building at windmill lane, 301 East Iowa Street, Hiawatha, with a meal following services.  Regina Stillman will officiate.

The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services.
