HOLTON – Wanda Sue Jenkins, 80, of Holton, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was born July 13, 1942 at Holton, the daughter of Henry and Violet Houpt Jenkins.  She graduated from Holton High School in 1961.

She was a member of the 1 ^st United Methodist Church in Holton.

Wanda had been a waitress and a cook in different restaurants.  She later worked for Craigs IGA, Shur-Save Grocery, Salts Liquor Store, and as a PBX telephone operator for the Prairie Band Casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Jenkins, and three sisters, Jo Alice Shea, Ila Rose Moser and Rita Jenkins.

Survivors include nieces, Barbara Shea, Holton, and Terri Gallup (Andy); nephews, Gregg Moser, Holton, and Wayde Shea (Lisa), Ottawa; great nieces and nephews, Caitlin Sonnich (Alex), Connor Shea (Montana), Claire Perry (Bret), Callie Shea and Dustin Gallup (Lindy), and a great-great niece and nephew, Brooks and Adalee Perry.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28th at the Chapel Oak Funeral Home in Holton.  Burial will be at a later date in the Holton Cemetery.  Wanda will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Palliative Care Room at Holton Community Hospital, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.
