William E. Lowe IV, 64, Hiawatha passed away May 10, 2026. William was born January 21, 1962 at Hiawatha, the son of Billy and Helen Lowe and grew up in Powhattan, KS where he attended school and graduated salutatorian in the class of 1980.

He married Janice Gartner June 21, 1980 and they made their home in Hiawatha, where they raised their kids, Jeremy, Heather and Roscoe. He worked for the City of Hiawatha for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, going to Nascar races, his morning coffee, tinkering in the garage, and catching up on grandkids activities.

Survivors include his children, Jeremy (Dana) Hiawatha, Heather, Sabetha, Roscoe, Manhattan. Grandkids: Jerick, Brenner, Ella, Lucca, Georgia and Bodie. He is also survived by his sisters: Patty (Jim) Parker, Hiawatha, Jan (JR) Seibenmorgen, Hiawatha, Jean (Terry) Hirsch, Hiawatha, a brother Dale (Katie) Lowe, Waseca, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, parents, sister, Barb, Daughter-in-law, Robin and granddaughter, Addison.

A celebration of William's life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, with Tony French officiating.  Private burial at Claytonville Cemetery, south of Hiawatha.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday where the family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 that evening.
